Frequently Asked Questions
When can I start renting a space at the Union Club?
We are hard at work making repairs and finishing the details to make an amazing spot for members to get work done. We anticipate that starting in May we will be able to offer 45 introductory memberships including dedicated desks, a Commons Membership (floating desk) option and one Private office. Later this summer will have a grand opening and will offer additional private offices, hot seats/floating desks, artist work-space, club memberships, beautiful patio spaces over looking Commencement Bay and an event space.
Do I need to start my membership on the first of the month?
No. You can start any day and then we will prorate the next month's rent. That means you will pay a full month’s rent for the month you start, even if there are only three days left of that month, and then the second month’s rent is prorated, so you would only pay for those first three days the next (second) month, for example.
What are the Union Club's office hours?
The Union Club is open from 9:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. Access is available via a secure entry system. Club Members are free to use the space at that time. Full-time members (commons, dedicated desks and private offices) are given building access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What are the Union Club’s leasing office’s hours?
We have someone in the office Monday through Friday 9-5. If you want to sign up, get a tour, or come in and get more information you should always try calling first in case we are out of the office. However, we do take drop-ins, and we have several people on site who are available between 9-5 Monday-Friday. If you are a member and need help with something you can either find us during our “office hours” Monday-Friday 9-5 you can always call, our business cards and info is available at The Union Club. And of course, we are always available by email for any requests.
Do I have to sign a long term lease?
No. Our memberships are month to month. We want to make it easy for you. If you ever change your mind or need additional space, we need prior notice 20 days before your next rent is due on the first of the month. Typically that means you need to give us notice by the 10th of the month in order to change or cancel your membership for the following month. (However, we also are able to prorate.)
Can I change the type of membership I have?
Yes. You can change your type of membership at anytime. We will work with you to meet your current needs, making it easy for you to manage and grow your business. We simply transfer your deposit to your new space, based on current availability.
When is rent due?
Rent is due on the 1st day of the month.
What if I pay my bill late?
We charge $25 on the 6th of the month if you have an outstanding balance, and $5.00 a day until fully paid.
How can I pay my bill?
The easiest way is to set up free automatic (ACH) payments through your checking account. You receive a discounted deposit rate for setting up auto pay. We also accept payments in the office by check credit card (using Square), or automatic transfer.
What will my mailing address be?
Your mail can be addressed to your personal name or business name at our building’s street address followed by your membership # (Ask the community manager for your membership number.) We’ll sort the mail and place it in the mail station and store your packages behind the front desk.
